Meet Our Coaches

Head Coach Dominique Shells

Coach Dominique is entering her third year on the Westwood Women’s Lacrosse coaching staff, second as the Head Varsity Lacrosse coach. She is from Highlands Ranch, Colorado where she started playing lacrosse in the 6th grade. She was a varsity letter winner all four years at Valor Christian High School while also playing softball and running track. As a freshman in high school, she competed in the Maverik Showtime where she was selected to compete in the All-Star showcase.

Coach Dominique was recruited to play Division 1 lacrosse for the University of Colorado. During her time at CU, Coach Dominique was part of 2 NCAA Tournament appearances. She was also part of the first-ever Pac-12 Women’s Lacrosse season champions from in 2018. She also had the opportunity to compete with the Buffs in Australia against the National Australia Women’s lacrosse team.

Outside of her competitive career, Coach Dominique is a US Lacrosse referee having officiated 5th to 12th-grade players for eight years. She also coached Boulder Valley lacrosse, assisted in camps and clinics, and also did personal training for high school players.

Since graduation, Coach Dominique moved to Austin and was the Head JV Girls Lacrosse Coach for Westwood during the 2021-2022 season before becoming head coach for the 2022-2023 season.
